Data Security Breach Toolkit
ICBA has developed a Data Security Breach Toolkit to help community banks respond to potential payment card data compromises, like the recent Target data breach which has impacted millions of consumers. This free resource is located on a special section of ICBA’s website and includes the just-released ICBA guide entitled, “Key Considerations for Community Banks Facing Payment Card Compromises.” The website also includes resources from Visa’s comprehensive toolkit, designed to help issuers manage a large data breach and includes: a best practices communications brochure; sample cardholder letters and statement inserts; a customer service Q&A document, media sample statements, and a security breach guide. Survey Highlights Community Bank Payment Trends
More community banks are offering mobile payments (37 percent versus 14 percent in 2011) , according to the 2013 ICBA Community Bank Payments Survey. The survey also revealed the continued importance of debit cards, with 99 percent of community bankers rating them as "important" and 87 percent rating them as "very important."
